Our client is a BS EN ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 accredited independent manufacturer of fine organic chemicals. Product applications cover the pharmaceutical, agrochemical, detergent, photographic, food, fragrance and textile industries. They have sales of over £20 million per annum, 65% of which are exports to markets including the USA, Germany, Eire, France, Netherlands, Switzerland, Italy, India, Korea, and Japan. They were awarded the Queens Award for Export in 1997, the Chemical Industries Association’s (CIA’s) Manufacturing Company of the Year Award in 2003 and the CIA’s Sustainable Development Award in 2006.
Our client currently has a vacancy in their Research & Technology Department for a Process Development Chemist.
Within the role you will develop synthetic routes for new products that are suitable for scale up, transfer new products onto plant and develop and assess current plant processes.Good Laboratory skills are essential as is an understanding of organic chemistry. The position would suit a graduate scientist with a strong background in organic chemistry looking to make a career in the fine chemicals industry.
