They offer flexible, expedient solutions in the development, manufacture, filling and packing of a wide range of liquids, creams, ointments and gels.
Our client currently has an opportunity for a Microbiologist to join their team. Reporting to the QC Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for conducting the microbiological testing of raw materials, finished products and environmental samples, together with interpreting and reporting the results of such analysis.
You will have shared responsibility for training the Assistant Microbiologists and the Laboratory Steward ensuring their continuous development in line with training programmes. In addition you will be responsible for the allocation and organisation of their workload, and the preparation of laboratory procedures.
Other duties include the stock control and ordering of lab consumables, and the calibration of a variety of laboratory equipment.
Candidates for this role should be educated to degree level or equivalent in Microbiology with demonstrable practical knowledge and experience of reading and interpreting microbial growth, including the identification of bacterial colonies. You must have knowledge of hygienic practices and aseptic techniques and be able to work under you own initiative, mostly unsupervised.
Hours of work 08:30 to 17:00 Monday to Friday (37.5 per week)
