Business Management related discipline
We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and motivated graduate to play a major role in a strategic two year collaborative project between the Blond McIndoe Research Foundation and the University of Brighton. The project is to develop business planning and marketing capabilities focused on attracting long-term unrestricted funding to support expanded research programmes and lever further funding through academic affiliations.
The Blond McIndoe Research Foundation has a worldwide reputation for conducting medical research with special expertise in cell biology applied to wound healing. The Foundation is co-located with the Queen Victoria Hospital in East Grinstead, Sussex, giving it unique access to human tissue and leading surgeons, and enabling it to conduct clinically relevant translational research to support plastic and reconstructive surgery.
This opportunity, as part of the government’s Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) scheme, will offer the successful candidate the opportunity to lead a project which is key to the future growth of a charity and which will have a positive impact on the delivery of clinically relevant translational research to support plastic and reconstructive surgery. If relevant, the successful candidate will also have the opportunity to register for a funded higher degree such as an MSc.
Key attributes: 2:1 degree or above in a Business Management related discipline. Skilled project manager with experience of successful marketing and fundraising, including copy-writing and well developed IT skills, ideally gained within the not-for profit sector. A higher degree in an associated area would also be an advantage, as would a relevant industrial placement or other industrial experience. Sympathetic to the aims of Blond McIndoe, with a genuine interest in biomedical science and medical research.
The package: Early responsibility for a high profile project, a generous dedicated personal development budget and the opportunity to register for a funded higher degree where appropriate.
