Business Management, Retail,
Salary up to £22,000 per annum
We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and motivated graduate to play a major role in a strategic two and a quarter year collaborative project between Ferring Country Centre and the University of Brighton. The project is to identify, develop and market new commercial opportunities for the Centre and develop business tools for clients with learning difficulties.
Ferring Country Centre was established in 1996 as an independent charity which provides work training for adults with learning difficulties. The Centre allows them to learn in a safe and supervised environment within a Riding Therapy Unit and Garden Centre. The Centre needs to identify and develop commercial opportunities which may include a farm shop, garden centre and café to provide additional income streams.
This opportunity, as part of the government’s Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) scheme, will offer the successful candidate the opportunity to develop project management skills, through the delivery of a significant change programme and introduce new processes and technology into a special-needs environment. They will also have the opportunity, if relevant, to register for a funded higher degree such as an MSc as part of this project.
Key attributes: Bachelors degree at 2:1 or above in an appropriate business subject such as Business Management, Retail, Marketing, Business Systems or an IT based subject with a relevant business element. An interest in accessibility or human computer interaction would be an advantage. A higher degree in an associated area would be an advantage, as would a relevant industrial placement or other industrial experience.
The package: Early responsibility for a high profile project, a generous dedicated personal development budget and the opportunity to register for a funded higher degree where appropriate.
