Due to the nature of the placements and the duties involved it is essential that you are flexible to relocate & that you have a full UK driving licence (or access to alternative transport).

WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING?

Based in our branches for the duration of the programme, you will be exposed to every aspect of our business and culture each day. You will get to interact with our wide range of customers, from self-employed plumbers and builders to major multinational companies, making sure we deliver the very best in customer service. You will learn about our products and how we deliver our customers’ orders on time and in full, as well as the central functions team that support this.

Through the 18 month programme you will complete three placements with the first nine months getting to experience the day-to-day operations of a branch, including counter sales, warehousing and managing stock. You will undertake an assignment project to tackle a practical business issue.

On your second placement you will be transferred to another branch and work as part of the regional trading director’s team or undertake a business project.

Finally you will be given the opportunity to take on a position as a deputy branch manager, while we continue to support your development for the remaining six months of the programme.

THE PROGRAMME

Our Management Training programme is 18 months long and will provide you with real practical experience from day one. Through hands-on interactive placements, regular formal training sessions, working with our managers, and completing business projects, you’ll learn the foundations of our business and develop the skills to take you further in the organisation.

You’ll be an important member of our team right from the start and you’ll be encouraged to roll-up your sleeves, make decisions, use your initiative and put your newly acquired skills into real-time, real-life practise.
