Cranswick Plc has won many awards for its innovative and quality products and its passionate and driven people. This is all down to their commitment to deliver against their four key drivers:

• Quality  - in the product and service delivered to the customer.
• Lean processing – identifying and implementing manufacturing processes that produce efficiencies in time and cost.
• Innovation – development of new products and production techniques.
• People – at the core of the business, it is people who maintain and deliver the standards that have come to be the norm across Cranswick Plc and the group of companies.

You may be still wondering what Cranswick do.

Cranswick Plc are at the forefront of food production.

The origins of the business were established in the 1970s by a co-operative of farmers to produce pig feed. The significant changes came in 1988 when Cranswick embarked upon a strategic growth plan by extending its expertise and knowledge into the production of fresh pork and from there the success story has grown.

Cranswick Plc now works with the UKs major retailers and food service companies producing fresh pork, gourmet sausages, gourmet bacon, cooked meats and a range of other value added products including sandwiches, continental delicacies such as olives and chorizo and the recent acquisition and development of a pastry bakery for the all-important sausage roll.
Our continued growth and success has been driven by entrepreneurial and challenging expert professionals from within the food industry. We have always valued the contribution graduates have made to our business and we are keen to identify the future business leaders who will drive forward the next strategic development.

The Role

We are looking for future leaders - people who can influence and bring a team with them, sometimes in quite high pressure environments.

Cranswick values the need to train and develop graduate talent, which is why we operate a programme that exposes our new recruits to all areas of our operational business for the first year.

You will be involved in projects and real work, spending time in the abattoir and on the production lines understanding the need for purchasing, animal welfare, health and safety, technical specifications and our production and packing processes.

By year two you will be moving into an NPD role within the business. You will use your strong communication skills to liaise with stakeholders, both internally and externally. New Product Development within Cranswick involves investigating and establishing new processes. Working closely with the production department, you will be looking into butchery methods, procedures and efficiency. As part of the role you will work with the end retailers to establish packaging requirements and product development. Your technical background will be fully utilised by looking into the nutritional elements and the sourcing of products.

Experience in the food industry is not necessary but an aptitude for leading people, problem solving and a strong interest in food is essential.

Suitable applicants will be from a technical degree background including disciplines such as: Food Science, Food Technology, Nutrition or a Science based area.
