Roxel is an Anglo-French Company that designs, develops and manufactures a range of solid propellant rocket motors for use in tactical missiles. Its operations are spread across several sites in the UK and France and it has an annual turnover of about £100M and nearly 550 staff.

The UK operations are entirely based at Summerfield, Kidderminster, where we have a vacancy for a NDT engineer/technician.


The successful candidate will work as part of the Test and Evaluation team to facilitate the non-destructive testing of rocket motors and their sub-components. An opportunity also exists to gain experience in the area of mechanical testing.

Specific responsibilities of the NDT engineer/technician include the following:

  • Manage NDT operations to meet customer requirements.
  • Conduct and assess radiographs and ultrasonic data to the requirements of the component specifications.
  • Develop radiographic and ultrasonic test parameters, including calibration and operation of ultrasonic test equipment.
  • Demonstrate compliance with customer requirements.
  • Maintain current facilities.
  • Develop core capabilities.
  • Prepare and report results of tests, assessments and examinations.
  • Conduct safety checks and maintain safety records on the radiographic equipment as used on the company s premises.


Candidates must have as a minimum:

Degree in Physics/Mechanical or Electrical Engineering

Key attributes include the following:

An ability to communicate and work effectively with other technical specialists.
An ability to work to customer requirements and timescales.
Good organisational skills.
The desire to complete at least Level II training in NDT.
