Job Summary

LH Stainless Ltd, based in Keith in the North East of Scotland is recruiting for a graduate for a 12 month quality assurance role. Their main activities include process engineering, vessel manufacture and design services for the distilling, brewing and offshore industries. There is the potential for continued employment following this placement, depending on performance.

Job Description

The project objective would be the formal implementation of ISO 9001.

ISO 9001 is a quality management system that can be used in industries of any size, anywhere in the world. Registration to ISO 9001 provides objective proof that a business has implemented an effective quality management system, and that it satisfies all of the requirements of the applicable standard. An external, impartial expert called a registrar or CB (Certification Body) conducts an on-site audit to determine whether or not a company is in conformance to the standard. If they are found to be in conformance, they will be issued a certificate showing their address, scope of operations and the seals of the accreditation bodies that give the registrar its legitimacy.

Currently the company has various procedures in place but it needs the full time attention of an individual to complete the implementation of the project up to and including certification.

This will also lay the foundations for the eventual achievement of ISO 14001 and 18001. The successful graduate will also get involved in other aspects of the business and this will include the use of Autodesk Inventor.

This position is part funded by Highlands and Islands Enterprise and the European Regional Development Fund.
