Job Description

The main purpose of your role will be to oversee the day to day activities associated with MRP control (Materials, Resources and Planning), stock movements and KPI measurements. You’ll also look to support the materials and planning manager by communicating issues to the commercial and manufacturing departments. You will have the opportunity to plan key KPI’s for the team as well as deputise for the planning and materials manager.

Some of the key tasks that you will be involved in at Monier Redland are:

  • Identification of material shortages on customer deliveries and customer collections, using the functionality of SAP software and reporting tools
  • Co-ordinate MRP shortages identified by other members of the logistics team
  • Effectively allocate resource by monitoring and controlling volumes moved through business
  • Communicate on an hourly/daily basis as appropriate materials shortages occur
  • Re-allocate resource as appropriate between business locations in order to mitigate potential shortages
  • Liaise with distribution providers
  • Provide cover for the planning manager during periods of holiday and absence etc.
  • Compile weekly reports and other KPIs as appropriate
  • Support the materials and planning manager in the maintenance of the SAP planning and materials data base
  • Support the materials and planning functionality by regular reviews of the process parameters, such as ROLs and lead-times etc.


The Individual


The successful candidate will come from a science, business or technical background, educated to degree level (2:2 or higher) with a proven academic track record.
