Tarbert Harbour Authority, based in the scenic and vibrant West Coast fishing village of Tarbert are recruiting for a recent graduate for a 12 month Marketing Development role.  This post will provide a great opportunity for a self starter to join the team and gain experience in first hand customer contact and make a direct contribution not only to the business but the local community too.

Job Description

Tarbert Harbour Authority, based in the scenic and vibrant West Coast fishing village of Tarbert are recruiting for a recent graduate for a 12 month Marketing Development Officer role.  To achieve their business objectives the Marketing Strategy identifies a number of areas where THA need to bring in new resources and expertise – particularly in 3 key areas:

1)      Technical expertise to set up new systems and maximise website presence and analytics;

2)      Staff marketing resource to take forward the actions which will not have a big impact on financial budget, but require staff time to progress

3)      Improving data capture to enable better customer information; market assessment and impact of marketing strategy to be reviewed on an annual basis.

This position is part funded by Highlands and Islands Enterprise and the European Regional Development Fund.

Skills / Experience

Essential

•        Knowledge of social media and online marketing approaches

•        Ability to develop a tactical online and e - marketing strategy

•        Ability to design management information systems to monitor interaction and impact of marketing activities

•        Good Copywriting skills

•        Ability to promote better search engine optimisation

•        Use of a range of online tools e.g. survey monkey, mail chimp, Google analytics

•        Experience in tailoring web based resources to improve communications and interaction with customers

•        Active user of social networks

•        Writing press releases and advertising features

•        Ability to work well using own initiative

•        Excellent organisational skills

•        Good communication skills

Desirable

•        Web design and editing skills.

•        Microsoft office

•        Report writing

•        Experience of tourism and boating industries

•        Use of online marketing e.g. Google Ads

•        Interest in the leisure and tourism boating industry

Qualifications

•        Degree in relevant discipline
