Job summary

Stramash, an award winning, young, dynamic and growing social enterprise based in Oban, are recruiting for a recent graduate for a 12 month Marketing role.  Stramash has reached a stage in its development where a considerable amount of marketing expertise and capacity is needed to move the organisation on to the next level. Lack of marketing capacity has been identified in the most recent business plan. Stramash has reached the stage where it needs to differentiate its various services and develop a sub-brand for each one. The project, called “Reaching Forward” will be centred on the development and marketing of these sub-brands.

Job Description

The project will also focus on developing the membership aspect of the organisation and the potential that this holds, which to date has not been realised. Along with this the project will develop and coordinate a calendar of events that raise the profile of the organisation.

The project will:

-          Identify and research the market segment for each Stramash service

-          Provide detailed analysis of competitors for each service

-          Develop a marketing plan that encompasses each service

-          Implement the marketing plan

-          Develop and implement a membership strategy

-          Establish a calendar of high profile events and coordinate the delivery of these

-          Develop the marketing of Argyll & the Isles as a paddlesports destination

-          Develop the marketing of the Argyll Sea Kayak Trails

At the end of the project, Stramash will have a set of dynamic and effective sub-brands that are marketed to the precise target audiences in a way to maximise engagement. Stramash will have a clear marketing plan for the following 24 months that builds on the work of the project.  In addition, there will be marketing material and a website in place to promote and develop the region as a paddlesports destination.

This position is part funded by Highlands and Islands Enterprise and the European Regional Development Fund.
