WHO WE ARE

Apollo is one of the largest privately owned UK manufacturers of adhesives and liquid coatings. Products are supplied worldwide across a range of industrial, construction and end-user markets. Supply is direct and via distributors, under the Apollo Adhesives and private-label brands.

The company was established in 1972 and is recognised within the adhesives industry and by its customers for technical expertise and commitment to service. Growth has been rapid in recent years, especially within the construction market. Apollo has recently invested in new premises, distribution facilities and an IT system to facilitate this growth. It is also currently reviewing its strategy and recognises the importance of developing a deeper understanding of its markets and customer base.

This is an excellent time for a graduate to join Apollo. There is a real opportunity for employees to play a role in shaping the future of the company. New employees can expect to enter a company that is constantly evolving within a supportive working environment.

THE ROLE

Working closely with the sales and marketing manager and other members of the marketing department, you will support the whole marketing function.  You will get involved with proofreading, market research, preparing product specifications and producing marketing collateral for key market sectors.

Your work will be implementing a pre-agreed strategy, supporting other members of the team.  This role is for a ‘hands-on’ and analytical marketer, who wants to get involved with the sharp-end of the business.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

You will have achieved in Maths and English at GCSE, obtained English at ‘A’ Level and have a business or ‘commercial’ based degree, where you will have been able to develop your analytical skills. Whilst we are not necessarily looking for experience and we believe your potential is far more important, it would be beneficial if you have had exposure to, or evidence of strong proofreading and copywriting skills through an industrial placement or other work experience.

You will be a commercially mature individual with a persistent and proactive nature and have a genuine understanding and interest in marketing.

Key attributes we are looking for: -

•             A ‘can do’ attitude and a genuine willingness to learn and make a difference.

•             Excellent attention to detail.

•             Good communicator

•             Humility and empathy.  You will need to be able to communicate ideas and put forward counter arguments to challenge the thinking, but in a positive way.

•             Someone who likes working with people. The company is very ‘joined up’ and the team spirit is high.

•             An inquisitive mind-set.

•             Be commercially minded, understanding the importance of how your role directly contributes towards the overall success of the company and increases profits.
