This will be a 12-month post and the postholder will be deployed in ways that enable her or him to make an important contribution to the work of Community Land Scotland.

Job Description

Community Land Scotland (CLS) is recruiting for an individual with energy and enthusiasm in order to fulfil new actions for their small organisation that is heavily reliant on volunteers. They are less interested in specific skills and more interested in an individual who is really committed to the whole concept of community landownership and wants to see it become a reality for more communities.

Typical projects you may be working on include:

-                Increasing CLS’s presence through social media

-                Managing the CLS website

-                Developing the Scottish International Land Trust

-                Working up ideas to contribute to the financial sustainability of the organisation

-                Assisting on funding bids

-                Developing research projects

-                Developing a membership strategy for full and associate members

-                Improving communications with CLS members

-                Organising the CLS annual conference

As a young organisation Community Land Scotland is open to ideas as to how they can improve their financial sustainability, their profile and serve their members better and the successful candidate will be able to input your ideas and suggestions. You need to be a self starter and to be able to work to a minimum of supervision. For the right individual, this is an opportunity to live in a wonderful location, visit some amazing groups throughout Scotland – and an opportunity to make your mark and to really make a difference.

The successful candidate will be reporting to the Chair of Community Land Scotland but will also be working to other directors on specific projects.

This position is part funded by Highlands and Islands Enterprise and the European Regional Development Fund.
