Siemens small gas turbine manufacturing company, Siemens Industrial Turbomachinery Ltd, has existed û under various identities û on its present site in Lincoln for over 50 years. Lincoln is the base for the design and manufacture of world class gas turbines for applications within the Oil and Gas Industry and Industrial Power Generation (cogeneration).
The business continues to invest heavily in Research and Development in all areas, but particularly to improve efficiencies, further reduce emissions and to widen the range of fuels that can be used.
We currently have an opportunity on our graduate programme for a Graduate Manufacturing Engineer within the Construction Support Department. The Construction Support department is responsible for supporting the process of manufacturing the gas turbine. The activities include the provision of tooling and equipment, support of turbine testing, business improvement (6 Sigma, Lean etc), cost reductions, codes of practice, procedures, Health and safety, environmental compliance and production problem solving. Liaison is completed with various other internal departments including Design, Quality, IT etc. Liaison is also held with external suppliers and other external bodies.
By working in the department, the role will offer first hand experience of a modern manufacturing environment. Projects will allow the visibility of the tools and techniques used in a complex and varied manufacturing organisation.
The business offers a 2 year graduate programme with full accreditation from the two major engineering institutions; IEE and IMechE and currently has approval with the IIE, providing a route to Incorporated or Chartered Engineering status and opportunities in the Company resulting from the training.
You should have gained or be expecting a 2:1 BEng (Hons) degree in Manufacturing / Production Engineering. There are no minimum requirement for A level passes and subjects for this role and no specific work experience is required.

o Ability to present him/herself well to all levels of people both internal and external to the business
o Ability to work alone or in a team, sometimes under pressure to meet deadlines.
