Nationwide (Rotational Programme)

Food is a global business; in fact it’s the biggest industry in the UK and ABP plays an important role. We are one of the most successful companies in the food industry; through our fresh and frozen divisions we are a preferred supplier to major retailers and food service companies supplying the UK with beef and lamb products.

  • We’ve built our success on entrepreneurship, technological investment and a deep knowledge of the sectors in which we operate.
  • ABP contributes an estimated €1.3bn each year into the rural economies in which it operates through its acquisition of cattle and employment of staff in its facilities (€450m Ireland, €885m UK).
  • We’ve doubled in size in the past 10 years and continue to seek additional growth opportunities through organic initiatives and potential acquisitions.
  • We are regular award winners for our products and environmental policies.

The ABP Graduate Management Scheme

We’ve been recruiting and developing graduates successfully for over ten years and we know that the best way for your career to accelerate is for you to take a hands-on approach.

You will benefit from a rotational programme exposing you to a variety of business areas and sites across the UK. This scheme will equip you with the knowledge and skills to be successful in your chosen role – Production Management.

Graduate trainees move through our business over a 2 year period and you will be exposed to different elements of ABPs business (which for Production Trainees means focusing on the production, packaging, boning and abattoir environments). This journey will involve a mixture of project tasks and working in a team with real responsibility.

Duties could include overseeing the production process and schedules to ensure it is cost effective, supervising and motivating teams, setting quality standards and making sure products are on time.

Growing future leaders

Past intakes onto our Graduate Scheme now hold many senior posts in our company. We really do believe in growing and investing in new talent. This could be you!

Our Graduate Scheme creates an excellent platform for promotion and a fast track to move into positions of high responsibility. Many of our graduates are supported to gain relevant professional qualifications as they become true industry experts.

What do you need to demonstrate?

  • Achievement – through your work experience and academic studies (a minimum of a 2.2 degree).
  • A down-to-earth attitude
  • Commitment and ambition
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Desire to learn and become an expert
  • A genuine interest in the meat industry (essential)
  • Due to the nature of the role, the locations and the various placements you must have a current UK driving license or access to equivalent transport.
  • You must be eligible to work in the UK.

Discovery Graduates is our retained Managing Consultancy. All applications will be processed through Discovery.

All applications will be assessed by Discovery Graduates. We believe that every graduate is capable of getting a good graduate job given the right support, advice and training and we only work with companies who recognise the value that the right graduate can bring to their business.

Location: Yorkshire and Humberside
