Job summary

Fresh Marketing, based in Dingwall, Ross-shire, is recruiting for a graduate for a 12 month logistics role.  The successful graduate will be responsible for reviewing and optimising current contracts as well as constantly searching for new service providers to ensure the business gets best value.

Job Description

Working in a small and dynamic team, that is fast moving and very entrepreneurial in attitude, the graduate who takes on this project will be exposed to a wide range of activities and challenges. This fast growing successful company would be a great introduction to the world of business in the food and drink sector.

The graduate would be responsible for conducting a full review of all of our transport and logistic contracts with TNT, DHL and a number of other service providers. Once the review was complete they would be responsible for managing these contracts on a day to day basis always looking to ensure we provide an efficient and reliable service for our customers at the best possible value.

This work is currently spread throughout my team and the business believes it would be beneficial for one person to be responsible for this. It would provide focus for this vital activity and free up other members of staff to concentrate on other areas.

Duties will include:

•        Review and manage logistics contracts

•        Obtain quotes and manage haulage of products in the UK and internationally

•        Manage any issues arising

•        Manage a sales and stock tracking system

•        Produce and update product spec sheets

•        Manage Amazon orders portal

•        Dispatch product samples to UK and overseas destinations

•        Manage stock room to ensure we have samples to send out

•        Manage transport documentation including customs documents

•        Assist at tradeshows in the UK and abroad

•        Produce a logistics manual for staff (to enable cover during holiday time or sickness absence etc)

This position is part funded by Highlands and Islands Enterprise and the European Regional Development Fund.

Skills / Experience


•        Degree (in relevant discipline would be helpful)

•        Analytical and Numerical skills

•        Computer literate esp. Microsoft Office to include Excel

•        A high attention to detail

•        Organised

•        Methodical


•        Negotiation skills

•        Self confident


•        Degree in relevant discipline


The successful candidate will benefit from use of a company iphone and there is the potential for bonuses, depending on performance. 

There is the potential for continued employment should the placement be successful.
