Job Summary

Eclipse Blind Systems, a world leader in window blind coverings based in Inchinnan, has an opportunity for a Graphic Design graduate to work alongside our Marketing Team to facilitate the implementation of some exciting projects. This is a 12 month placement with view to permanent hire, based in Glasgow.

Job Description

Working alongside our Marketing Team, the successful candidate will help facilitate the implementation of some exciting projects for Eclipse Blind Systems.

The position will involve working on a variety of projects from POS for new products, specific customer requirements as well as involvement in the design and content for our Price Catalogue. Each project will have individual objectives in relation to the items we are promoting and will need to be completed in a specific timescale and budget.

Projects will be measured on the style and content of the finished artwork, as well as the efficiency with which it was completed, as we have an extensive number of projects being worked on, so they all need to be kept to time to prevent delaying other projects within the design schedule.

Day to day tasks will include:

  • Working within the in-house design team who produce all relevant products on print and on-line formats
  • Effectively create layouts with strong typography and appropriate use of colour, images and fonts
  • Develop concepts for printed material, pattern book design and POS
  • Troubleshoots technical issues in graphic files for pre-press and printing - linking graphics, including fonts and creating colour separations
  • Creative Timeline Management to ensure all submission deadlines are met.

  • Proficient in Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign and Microsoft Office
  • Working knowledge of HTML, Dreamweaver and Flash
  • Ability to create e-shots
  • Excellent work ethic and the ability to thrive in a time-sensitive environment
  • Experience in print production, both in-house and with external vendors.

Graduate from a minimim Bachelor's Degree in Graphic Design or equivalent qualification.

As part of the Talent Scotland Graduate Programme, the candidate will benefit from support from the TSGPP team and may have access to a residential Leadership and Business skills training course.
