Graduate Internship - Researcher: Rural Business
NOTICE: This job has now expired and will not be accepting any more
Buckinghamshire is predominantly rural county. This project will monitor the progress made by the county’s Rural Strategy and Action Plan in addressing challenges to rural life under six priority areas: access to services and facilities; transport; rural housing; countryside and environment; economy and enterprise; and community self-confidence.
The project will identify a series of indicators for use in measuring progress in Buckinghamshire against these priorities. The identification will involve desk research, drawing on statistics and policy documents, and interviews where appropriate. Having identified indicators, the report will set out Buckinghamshire’s performance to date at a range of scales, setting benchmarks and identifying comparators, before addressing research questions that have arisen in the benchmarking. The project will conclude with a written report setting out the research findings and making recommendations, to be informed by discussion following a presentation of findings to BELP and Buckinghamshire County Council representatives.
This internship will provide interns with an opportunity to manage a complete consultancy project, from devising a methodology through to presenting recommendations to the BELP Board and County Councillors. The completed project will provide evidence of report writing for business, qualitative and quantitative analysis, project management and presentation to a range of audiences.
