WHO ARE WE?

Wing Yip is the UK's leading Chinese supplier of genuine oriental products. Our own label products are the fastest growing Chinese pouring sauces in the UK retail sector.
With a turnover in excess of £100 Million operating out of four superstore locations within the UK we supply over 2,500 products from the Far East.
As you can imagine we rely heavily on the use of intelligent I.T. systems to facilitate this very fast moving business and in this respect our continued growth and success means we are looking for a graduate with good I.T. skills to join the team.


WHAT'S THE JOB?

This role carries substantial responsibility and presents opportunites from day one. Working alongside the I.T. Manager and after training you will provide first line technical support, end-user support for all sites and other Wing Yip companies within the group as well as Wing Yip customers.

Running system checks, back ups, end of day and month end reports for the four branches, ensuring they are fully prepared and set up for the days trading, this role is great opportunity for someone to start their career in I.T.

As part of the function of Graduate IT support role, you must be able to work flexible hours to accommodate the Wing Yip stores while they are operating (Mon/Fri - 7am/8pm, Sat/Sun - 9am/Spm) as well as working overnight and away from home as and when required.

They should have a good understanding, a genuine interest andfamiliarity with information technology. Within our business we use the following technologies and Ideally you will have some knowledge these. We do not expect you to be the finished article and we are committed to training the right person for the role. 

- PC's/Laptops/Servers, Windows OS {XP, Windows 7+8, Server 2008 R2, Server 2012, Hyper-V, Terminal Services/ Thin Client}, UNIX (Solaris OS), Virtualisation, Cloud infrastructure & technologies,
- Symbol hand held scanners, bar-coding, networks (LANS & WANS) Stacked
- Switches/routers/fibre/VLANS, Microsoft Office Applications (Office 97 to Office 2013 - Word, Excel, -
PowerPoint, Access, Project, Publisher), Databases (SQL), ODBC, Photoshop/Paintshop Pro/Illustrator,
- EPOS, Socia l Media (facebook, twitter, YouTube, pinterest, google+), PCI DSS, SNMP, DLP (data leakage prevention}, Analytics (SAP Business Objects, Google Analytics, Google Adwords}, eCommerce & Online trading, testing methodologies (logging and recording issues in detail), stocking of computer consumables, distribution of daily/weekly/monthly reports, installation and set-up of software, setup of projectors,

On a regular day-to-day basis other aspects of the role will include: 

- training/re-training of staff, system backups and restore, 
- answering and logging of support calls internally and externally, 
-  maintenance of any and all computer hardware, ensuring daily business process have completed,
- checking IT infrastructure is operating to it optimum.

The Graduate IT support individual will also need to cover the responsibilities of other IT Staff on an adhoc basis.

Where appropriate you will be enrolled on to internal/external training courses which may form part of a professional and accredited qualification. 
 

OUR IDEAL PERSON

Educated at degree or Btech level in an I.T. related qualification, you will be an excellent communicator and able to provide on-site and telephone support to all staff and to customers when required.

A good telephone manner is essential and the ability to liase confidently with IT suppliers to diagnose problems and issues would be an advantage.

We are also looking for the following attributes: 
- Commitment and motivation
- Ability to work on your own initiative whilst still successfully integrating within the IT Team.
- They should be IT literate, strive to provide 100% technical support in all aspects of IT for the Wing Yip Group and it's customers
- Be polite and of smart appearance at all times and have a good timekeeping record.
