Brown Brothers Manufacturing LTD (subsidiary of the Browns Food Group) have an exciting opportunity for a graduate to join their expanding HR team. The candidate will gain extensive experience in all aspects of HR and payroll. Initially a 12 month placement, the successful candidate will have the opportuity to move into the second year of the training programme, with a potential permanent role thereafter.

This is a new role for an HR assistant to strengthen our existing HR and payroll team in order to meet the continual growth of the Browns Food Group.

The graduate will focus on ensuring accuracy and confidentiality of the payroll function and providing a supportive role to the HR Manager and Group HR Director in their duties.

The successful candidate will be placed on an internal training programme covering:

  • 1st period: Training on the time and attendance system and payroll training using Sage 50
  • 2nd period: Start to be involved in staff appraisals and have more involvement in more day to day staff issues
  • 3rd period: Attend ACAS training courses in respect to disciplinary and greivance and become actively involved in the disciplinary process by conducting investigations and minute meetings
  • 4th period: Take responsibility for chairing disciplinary and grievance hearings

 

Skills/Experience

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong numeracy
  • Specific attention to detail
  • Proficiency in Excel.

 

Qualifications

Graduate from a minimum undergraduate degree, preferably in HR or other relevant discipline.
