Graduate Help Desk Consultant

The purpose of this role is to provide expertise in responding to system and software enquiries from clients and m-hance’s staff regarding the installation and day to day running of the packages marketed and supported by the company. the successful candidate will act in an advisory capacity to clients with software support contracts.

Key Responsibilities

  • To answer efficiently and politely, incoming support calls log onto the support database.
  • To record all pertinent information for the future resolution of the logged call.
  • To resolve the logged call within the scope of his / her training and / or to escalate the problem so that it may be resolved by another member of the department in a timely and effective manner with due regard to our contractual obligations.
  • To file and copy, as appropriate, any relevant paperwork pertaining to the problems or other correspondence.
  • To maintain time recording data as required by the HelpDesk Team Leader
  • To ensure his / her personal appearance is at all times appropriate, bearing in mind that clients may visit The Help Desk Support Centre, or that he / she may be expected to visit a client site.
  • To ensure that messages taken on behalf of colleagues are communicated in a timely manner.
  • To attend internal meetings and / or client appointments in a timely manner giving advance warning to colleagues or the client of any delay.
  • To work on client sites providing consultancy services as directed and agreed with the client. To ensure time sheets are completed for all tasks on customer premises.
  • To maintain his / her personal work diary in a diligent and efficient manner.
  • To promote at all times m-hance in a professional and diligent fashion.
  • To act in a courteous and polite fashion at all times.
  • To carry out additional duties as may occur from time to time as instructed and agreed by your manager

Person Profile

Educational Background:

Degree Computing/maths/business studies/English/history.

Previous Experience:

None required

However exposure to Accounting / Technical / or customer service environments preferable

Personal Situation

The candidate will be primarily based in the office but there will occasionally be a requirement to travel to client sites. Able to commute reliably to office base. Able to work extended hours on occasions when required. A clean or near clean driving licence would be an asset.


Excellent communication skills.

Reliable, tolerant, and determined. Enthusiastic with good self discipline and able to exercise personal initiative.

Can function effectively in high pressure situations and priorities tasks and issues to efficiently manage work load.

Able to work individually or as part of a team.

Must have a logical mind set and the ability to trouble shoot complex issues.

Specific Product Knowledge

None required (training given) However Good knowledge of Microsoft products would be a bonus.
