Job summary

Spaceright Europe Ltd have an exciting opportunity for graduate graphic artist/illustrator(s) with a good eye for design, to create a range of colourful and informative artwork designs ranging from large murals to small works. The successful applicant(s) should possess strong graphic illustration skills & be able to convey a sense of fun through their work. They will have clear guidance on the nature of the subject matter but plenty of scope for self expression & design flair. This is a 6-8 month placement based in Cumbernauld.

Project Description

Spaceright Europe Ltd is embarking on the creation & launch of an exciting product development project which constitutes a key element in our planned business growth. Already a respected & recognised brand within education throughout the UK, the aim of this project is to extend the Spaceright product range further in the rapidly growing area of Nursery & Primary education.

Specifically, the project is to create a range of designs that inspire & assist the physical & emotional development of children through fun, colourful & informative artwork. The designs will range from large murals to smaller works & will cover subjects such as Nature, Role Play, Literacy, Numeracy, Citizenship, Sensory Development, Emotional Recognition, and Sports & Games along with inclusion & integration.

Role Description

We require a graphic artist/illustrator with a good eye for design, to create a range of colourful and informative artwork designs ranging from large murals to small works.

We shall be able to offer clear guidance on the nature of the subject matter, but the successful applicant will have plenty of scope for self expression & design flair. We have planned a sizeable body of work & envisage the project taking between 6 – 8 months to complete. We believe that this represents a great opportunity for the successful applicant(s) to develop their skills within a commercial environment, whilst gaining valuable experience within a vibrant market sector.

Skills / Experience

The successful candidate will have knowledge and/or experience in the following:

•                    Graphic Illustration

•                    Hand Line Drawing

•                    Graphic Artist

•                    Design (Adobe Packages Photoshop, Illustrator).

Qualifications

Educated to degree level, preferably specialising in:-

•                    Graphic Illustration

•                    Hand Line Drawing

•                    Graphic Artist

The business is at a crucial development stage where expansion and growth is planned in developing new products to grow sales and improve profit. This role will be at the forefront of this drive and will be pivotal in achieving business goals.

Spaceright Europe Ltd employs 50 members of staff at its head office and factory in Cumbernauld. Our range includes, folding tables, ergonomic chairs, whiteboards, easels, nursery furniture and notice boards.

Preferred Placement Start Date: 10 December 2012

Duration: 6-8 months, leading to a possible permanent role.
