Project Description

Digital Technology Awards 2013 Best New Product Winner, IBM SmartCamp winners, a Scottish Enterprise High Growth Startup and recent High Impact Startup winner - Clear Returns is not your usual employer.

The Clear Returns team are applying predictive analytics and big data mining to online retail, predicting returns to preserve retailers’ profit margins. We're building a global business that will save retailers billions and our analytics software is at the heart of that.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a gifted graduate to join this high potential start-up and work with a highly motivated, talented and driven team. You will be developing and maintaining the Front End application that delivers the reporting, performance alerts and insight to our retail clients. You will also be responsible for contributing to the development of other new products and web resources.

You will be a real self-starter, creative and with keen attention to detail and pride and passion for your work. Ability to work well under pressure, to deadlines and manage time appropriately is essential.

Start-ups are not for everyone - the successful candidate must be comfortable to take the risk that comes with working in the intense, stimulating but comparatively insecure environment of the early stage start-up.

Role

Working primarily with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, it will be your role to ensure that our software is robust, intuitive, attractive and impactful in the clients' business.

As a key member of the product team, your role will be to:

  • Take existing visuals and translate them into a robust, stylish and usable front end
  • Develop new functionality or enhancing existing functionality as part of a continual integration cycles
  • Lead and contribute to team discussions to identify design solutions
  • Coding clearly and maintaining consistency; code should be well documented with minimal bugs
  • Stay abreast of innovative emerging techniques in application development
  • Be involved in short term maintenance jobs and dealing with change requests from the product team
  • Contribution to the company website.
  • UI mock ups for customer facing projects.
  • Produce technical support documentation when required

This is the opportunity to be a crucial part of a game-changing organisation. The candidate will need to produce work of an extremely high standard – but successes achieved in this company will not go unrecognised, and will allow you to progress far more rapidly and rewardingly than in a large organisation.
