Graduate Finance Trainee
22,500 per annum plus CIMA Qualification Support

The Company:

Agrial Fresh Produce is a UK based ready to eat salad producer operating from 4 factories (and a farm) in the UK, employing around 1,000 people. We are best known within the UK for our Florette brand, but also work with major multiple retailers, wholesalers, convenience and food service customers to provide their Own Label products.

Our parent company, the Agrial Group, is farmer owned by the 13,000 cooperative members, and specialises in processing and selling the members’ products in 4 sectors: milk, fresh vegetables and fruit, beverages and meat.

Originally based in Normandy, our Group has regularly expanded since its creation to become one of the leading French farming cooperatives and is today present in Europe, Africa and the United States. Agrial employs 22,900 people with a turnover in 2018 of €5.8 billion.

The Role:

Agrial Fresh Produce want to support and develop high calibre Graduate talent within the Finance function, to create our Finance and Business leaders of the future. We want to nurture broad and rounded Finance skills and experience, coupled with industry specific business expertise, to add significant value throughout our business. 

During your initial 2 year programme you will help the business to understand its performance against KPI’s such as budget, forecasts and market.  The role will be reporting directly into the Business Finance Manager with exposure to the wider finance function and will liaise directly with the Operational and Commercial Teams.  Key accountabilities will include; weekly sales reporting, business improvement projects, monthly analysis on sales and margin, budget and forecast control, production of costings, optimisation and customer account planning.  You will also be a key point of contact between the UK office and the HQ in France.

Training and Development:

As part of our Graduate Programme we recognise the importance of developing the breadth of your knowledge and experience to make you one of the future leaders of our business. Your development will be through on the job training, CIMA study provision and support, and undertaking further training where required. In addition, the successful candidate will complete the Graduate Open Programme, leading to an accredited level 3 ILM qualification.

The Individual:

We are looking for a recent graduate, ideally possessing the following attributes and experience:

  • Degree in Accounting and Finance, or similar relevant subject
  • An ambitious individual with a thirst for knowledge and experience
  • Desire to work in a true management accounting role in a fast-paced food environment
  • Ability to deal with multiple stakeholder priorities
  • Skilled in making Finance accessible to non-finance leaders

    • A demonstrable interest in the food industry
    • Due to the location of some of the sites you will need a full UK Driving License
