Cyberhawk, a young and growing company, are looking for 2 inquisitive and adaptable Engineers with a strong interest in aviation to help expand our business. The successful graduates will use Remotely Operated Aerial Vehicles (ROAVs) to inspect high value assets and report back to clients. These unique placement opportunities are based just outside Edinburgh, initially for 12 months, with a view to permanent hire.

Cyberhawk Innovations are world leaders in providing versatile and efficient inspection and survey services using Remotely Operated Aerial Vehicles (ROAVs), fitted with high definition video, still and thermal imaging cameras.

Utilising the high definition camera systems fitted to our ROAVs the Engineers’ role will predominantly involve carrying out a visual assessment of high value assets such as metallic, concrete and masonry structures at refineries, power stations, oilrigs and industrial sites, often in remote areas. They will interpret and summarise results into a report detailing the anomalies found and engineering recommendations, which they will then present to the client.

As a young and growing company we are looking for inquisitive and adaptable people who can multi-task as the business develops. The Mechanical engineers will be best at inspecting metallic structures such as flare stacks and electricity towers.The Civil engineers will be best at inspecting concrete or masonry structures such as chimney stacks, cooling towers and dams. The Chemical engineers will have a fuller understanding of the processing at oil and gas refineries and so will be suitable for inspecting all structures at oil and gas refineries.

Full training will be provided, but you will be expected to take on responsibility from day one. in completing all areas of projects. The role will require significant travel some of which will be international.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Working with a team on site to complete aerial inspections
  • Editing of photo images for reporting
  • Writing technical reports
  • Liaising with customers
  • Preparing risk assessments and method statements
  • Working with SHE standards
  • Developing innovative and interactive methods of presenting results

 

Skills/Experience

Essential

  • High level of IT literacy and quick to pick up new software packages
  • Mature character in order to take on responsibility in completing all areas of projects
  • Ability to work independently without supervision, using own initiative
  • Strong organisation skills and ability to multi-task
  • Technically literate, i.e. able to describe asset conditions in a technically descriptive way
  • Excellent report writing skills
  • Excellent communication skills verbal and written
  • Strong investigative and problem-solving skills
  • Good hand-eye co-ordination for operating ROAVs

The work requires individuals to work in remote areas such as looking at pylons in the Highlands. To get there we sometimes have to walk with equipment for 500m, so, candidates should be prepared for this type of work.

  • Passport holder and willingness to travel.

 

Qualifications

Graduate from a technical background, e.g. Mechanical, Civil or Chemical Engineering or similar.
