Graduate Engineer / Energy Efficiency

 (1 Year Fixed Term Contract)

Our client is the world’s leading provider of building materials for pitched roofs, roofing components and chimney and ventilation systems. With its well-known brand portfolio and a complete range of systems and products for pitched roofs and chimneys, it offers premium product quality as well as innovation.

They currently have a fantastic opportunity to join their engineering team for a one year contract. You will work within a busy department involved in developing and validating new roofing products and systems. This is a highly technical role with the main themes being energy efficiency of roofs and the validation of roofing systems.

 

This role involves a challenging mix of computer modelling, experimental performance evaluations and engineering design calculations. You will provide assistance with projects and key tasks and will interact widely with staff throughout the business.

 

The successful candidate will be qualified to degree level or equivalent in an appropriate engineering discipline, building physics, physics or mathematics. A high level of computer literacy along with a thorough approach and attention to detail are essential skills for this role. Other essential skills required are a good standard of written & verbal communication in English and excellent team working and interpersonal skills.

 

Previous experience in running scientific software, Computational Fluid Dynamics, energy performance of buildings, building practice or experimental studies would be an advantage. In this exciting role there will be international travel involved and therefore a working knowledge of one or more additional European languages would be an asset but this is not essential.
