Graduate Design Engineer - Product Software Development: You will join a new reference platform development team within the software department, involved in the complete lifecycle of the product development starting with requirements capture and analysis through to design and verification. QUALIFICATIONS: Software engineering degree or related 2.1 or higher; ESSENTIAL: Experience/knowledge in most of the following: C/C++, Java, Structured design techniques particularly UML, Working as part of a larger project team, software development for embedded products, software development lifecycle. DESIRABLE: Other programming languages, configuration management, makefiles, cross compilers, debugging using an emulator, code optimisation, working to tight time scales, Unix, MS Office tools, GSM/GPRS experience. OTHER: Good communication skills, written/spoken; Good time management; Good analytical skills; Adaptable; Creative; Ambitious; Tenacity and uses initiative; Passionate about mobile handsets (development). DUTIES: Immediate accurate verbal/written reports including reporting issues that affect the work plan; Raise important issues with mentor/team leader immediately to ensure no surprises; Use reporting tools as defined by the Project. Produce detailed documentation for work package (Design document, Bug reports, Csets, Test Specifications etc) adhering to company standards and procedures as required. Participate in detail design, code and test solutions for work package adhering to company standards and procedures, debug work package. Assist with integration of work package. Review own work and participate in reviews of work by other team members. Execute test, identify problems, analyse results under supervision from other senior staff. Discuss/agree interfaces of own work package.
