They have over 300 chemists, based at their main UK operation in Gateshead, researching and developing products to support a global business. It is an ideal environment for ambitious individuals seeking to further their careers within a company committed to growth and success through technology.

They currently have some excellent career opportunities for graduate chemists to join the Worldwide and European Protective Coatings Technical Laboratories based in Felling.

Working within the technical laboratories the role will include the formulation support including short-term development projects and dealing with technical queries. A born communicator you will liase with all areas of the technical services departments throughout the regions.

You will be involved in the development of new and novel coating chemistries including new polymer systems, to help develop the next generation of protective coatings for a wide range of end users.

Candidates must be qualified to degree level in Chemistry or a related subject with excellent communication skills, a good team player and be capable of managing their time. All roles are very ‘hands on’ so you must be practically able and flexible.

Experience in the formulating, manufacture and testing of coatings and knowledge of ISO quality systems would be advantageous.

The Protective Coatings business hopes to attract individuals who demonstrate enthusiasm, initiative and the ability to apply skills and knowledge to practical problems, whilst also being able to offer new ideas to a fast growing the business.
