What is exciting about this role?

This role will give you first class on the job training and the opportunity to get your hands dirty. You will be developed to be a future Project Manager in order to run your own projects. You will also work closely with other departments in our business to help grow our business in line with our strategy.

What do we do?

We are a small division of a global mining group. Our group businesses maintain a strong position in seven major international commodity markets. As part of the group we have recycling facilities and a suite of global technology products, many of which are industry leaders.

So where do you come in?

Your main responsibility will be to the Senior Plant Metallurgist and provide scientific and technical support to the Processing Department.
You will be involved in primary lead and silver refining processes, such as process monitoring, data analysis, report compilation, trouble-shooting and assisting in maintaining safe work instructions.
You will be focused on improvement ideas and specified strategic investigations and test-work.
The role also involves support to ensure compliance with all relevant Health, Safety, Environmental, Quality and Performance related regulations policies and procedures.

What do you need to demonstrate?

Degree in Chemical Engineering/Extractive Metallurgy; minimum 6 months industrial placement or experience (preferably in heavy industries);

Industry experience, particularly in heavy metals, would be advantageous, especially in the areas of production or research and development, however this is not compulsory; proficient in the use of Microsoft Office software.
