Graduate Buyers (Purchasing / Sales / Marketing)

£18,000 plus pension and bonus
Our client is a global sourcing Company with a £150 million turnover and is the UK market leader in its sector. The company has a wide portfolio of customers, which includes blue chip organisations.
Reporting to the Senior Purchasing Manager the main purpose of this role is to source new and review existing products to ensure the business is able to maximise profits and provide a commercially viable range of products at competitive prices.
Graduate Buyers play an important role in helping to develop the best strategies and buying arrangements for the organisation. You will work strategically with the purchasing Managers and the Purchasing Director to continuously improve the methods of evaluating goods and services based on price, quality, services support, availability, reliability, trend and selection.
The Graduate Buyers will assist the Purchasing Director and Managers in the achievement of all aspects of the Company’s purchasing strategy and will specialise in developing and maintaining high quality trading relationships with our key suppliers. You will also play an important role in co-ordinating and developing the profitable trading strategy of agreed areas of our core product range. This is a great opportunity to progress into Junior Management within 15-18 months and additionally offers the potential for overseas travel.
You will be responsible for contacting current and potential suppliers in order to secure the highest quality of goods and services at the most competitive rate in order to meet specific business needs. They will also manage the relationship and process of delivery by ensuring that the goods or services are delivered to the right place at the right time, having planned and recommended the range, type and quantity of products according to customer demands (price, quality and availability), trends and budget.
The successful candidate will be educated to degree level, have experience of working in a busy office environment and have a competency in IT skills - using email, word and excel. You will ideally have experience of working within a purchasing department with experience of purchasing high quantity goods. Professional Sales, Marketing or purchasing qualifications would be desirable.
