eCom Scotland are pioneers and innovators in their field of eLearning, utilising the best in technology to create outstanding solutions for their clients. We are looking for someone to join our team that can bring that ‘cutting edge’ to our Business Development team.

With a busy competing market we need a creative approach to our Marketing and Business Development provisions to increase international opportunities. Although inroads have been made, the majority of eCom’s business comes from the UK, this role would look to focus on developing the international market whilst supporting the UK market development.

Role Description

The graduate will require to research and identify key countries/events, create a robust infrastructure and plan out & initialise the adoption of Social Media & Search Engine Optimisation for the International Market.

This commercial role would suit a Graduate with keen business development skills and a passion for technology. An IT related degree would be advantageous but is not essential. We are particularly interested in someone who is social media savvy, as we see future trends for customer care coming from this area of communication and it’s something which we are not fully utilising.

We would ensure that the role would be a kick-start for the graduate’s career with full bespoke training within a specialised and successful market that in today’s economically challenging times is bucking the trend within the Learning and Development/education arena.

For eCom this position would allow our Business Development and Marketing position to be aligned with our pioneering Client Enterprises, which in turn will increase opportunities which can then be researched and pitched by the Graduate. It is expected that this project will broaden our potential opportunities in the UK and Internationally, giving the business the ability to grow into new, diverse markets.

Tasks will include:

·         A fully documented marketing and business development plan including International marketing objectives

·         Present to Directors decisions on Countries/events to be focused on for the year

·         Create International & Industry specific Marketing materials

·         Develop an International Social Media focus and increase audience figures (Measurable through Google Analytics and Social Media analyst software)

·         Develop relationships with possible International Partners.

Outcomes will include:

·         Researching current & future trends

·         Identify Key International Markets/events

·         A Robust approach to International Promotion

·         Alternative ways to promote within the UK

·         Identify expanding current sectors

·         Positioning eCom at the forefront of our Industry.

Skills / Experience

Essential

·         Great written and oral communication skills

·         Social Media marketing skills/expertise/knowledge

·         Some knowledge and/or experience of SEO would be advantageous

·         Self-motivated and proactive

·         Good team worker

·         MS Office experience (Word, Excel to Intermediate levels).

Qualifications

·         The Graduate will have achieved a degree, preferably in a Business related subject and/or IT related.

Additional Info

Location: The placement is in Dunfermline, Fife and the starting salary is £18,000.00.
Start Date: February 2013
