Job summary

Davidson Brothers Shotts Ltd has a fantastic placement for a graduate to provide advice and information on animal nutrition as well as designing and evaluating the diets of animals.  The graduate will also provide support to sales advisors and manage a small sales ledger. This is a 12 month placement based in Shotts.

We wish to work with a graduate to use their knowledge of animal nutrition and agriculture to help drive forward our business and improve sales.  We offer the successful candidate the opportunity to work with a reputable firm and the opportunity to shape the role.  We want to learn and tap into the experiences that a graduate has to offer and in return we offer a “real hands” on experience and an opportunity to gain a wealth of knowledge & experience of animal feed distribution.

Role Description

The successful candidate will report directly into the Sales & Marketing Manager to understand how you can help support/develop and implement your specialised skills across the Davidsons team.

Tasks will include:

-          Formulating diets and rations to maximise growth, reproduction & health

-          Calculating and assessing the relative nutritional and economic value of feeding systems

-          Supporting sales advisors in their work

-          Evaluate calls from a technical view/suggest improvements continually supporting the team

-          Support the team with technical knowledge/converting potentials into sales

-          Manage a balanced customer ledger weekly/monthly

-          Work in partnership with suppliers to share knowledge and ensure best service possible for customers

-          Providing advice on nutrition to farmers and other animal owners

-          Supporting sales teams in producing and launching new products

-          Adhoc duties to support Sales & Marketing Manager

-          Analysing and interpreting data

-          Interpreting forage analysis

-          Conduct a Customer Data Base analysis

-          Own the update of product flyers/website support maintenance/build Intranet for business reference

-          Maintaining expertise in nutritional trends and keeping up to date with regulatory changes

-          Working with clients to formulate diets that meet their requirements/objectives

-          Analysing nutritional disorders

-          Create bespoke meals/rations/blends/meals/ideally be familiar with all of these

-          Supporting the work of agricultural consultants

-          Utilising specialist computer software to devise diets and produce reports

-          Assist with Product labelling

Skills / Experience
