Graduate Accountant

Starting Salary £18,000 plus study support

Our client is a leading European energy group and the 5th largest supplier of gas in the world today, with a presence in 33 countries, serving 15 million customers. The company is active in every aspect of the gas industry, from exploration and production, trading and transmission, to services, distribution and supply. Our client entered the UK gas market in 1999 and the UK electricity market in 2002.

In the UK, our client focuses on large industrial and commercial business customers and has built a market share of almost 10% to date. The UK turnover in 2006 was in excess of £1.3 billion with significant further growth planned. 180 people are employed by the company in Leeds.

The Role

Successful candidates will be employed in the Finance located close to the city centre of Leeds. The Finance Department currently has 7 qualified accountants and 20 actively studying graduate part qualified accountants. Our client is very supportive of the needs of developing accountants both in terms of gaining practical experience and in furthering their educational development.

The successful candidates will have defined roles within the Finance Department. In those roles they will be given training to develop the necessary experience towards professional qualification. As opportunities develop within the Department and the whole Company, studying accountants will be considered for those opportunities.

Fully expensed study support will be provided for CIMA or ACCA.
