To become a successful Recruitment Consultant you need to be determined, resourceful and have a high level of personal confidence. Frequently you will be faced with difficult situations; in a highly competitive industry it is imperative that you remain unflustered. It is your ability to cope, to read a situation and in some cases to react positively to disappointment that will determine your success.
Recruitment is a sales industry in the truest sense but essentially you are servicing two distinct clients – candidates and companies. A consultant has to manage both effectively, to recognise the needs of each and to pair those requirements in the most effective manner.
Our consultants have to be more than sales people. We demand the highest standards because it is the only way to differentiate our brand in one of the most competitive markets in the world. You will be equipped with, and expected to further develop, a detailed knowledge of your specialist market so that you are capable of discussing pressing, industry specific issues and offering genuinely valuable advice to candidates and companies.
Starting basic salaries for trainees range from £20,000 to £22,000. Provided your personal development and billing performance are in line with expectations you can expect to achieve the following:
• First year £30,000
• Second year £50,000
• Third year £80,000
Our leading first year Consultant has earned £45,000 this year and our biggest billers earn in excess of £100,000.
