Fermentation Operations Technologist (Microbiology)


Salary Range: £25,000 - £30,000

The Person

Our client is looking for a Fermentation Operations Technologist to join their team. To carry out this role it is essential you have a degree or equivalent in a microbiology science based discipline. It is also an advantage if you have a strong grasp of microbiological principles along with an understanding of fermentation processes. Experience of practical application within these fields and of working to COSHH regulations is preferred.


The Role

You will be responsible for carrying out all activities to agreed SHE, COSHH and quality standards, you will be working with the group leader taking full-time responsibility for preparing, equipping and safely operating a 1000 litre scale facility.


The job holder will also be responsible for demonstrating and developing fermentation processes, both standard and novel processing technologies. The job holder will also need to ensure results conclusions and recommendations are recorded properly.


Excellent communications skills are required at all levels in order to co-ordinate experiment programme work and must have the ability to operate in a multicultural environment on one’s own initiative.


The role will also require shift work arrangements outside normal working hours on request.
