Employee Relations Advisor / Human Resources Officer (HR)

Our client is an established Business Super-brand. The company has expanded by acquisition and merger of leading product specialists and is now one of the leading builders and plumbers merchant serving both trade and consumer customers.
As part of the re-organisation of the HR team to support rapid development, they are now looking to recruit a number of Employee Relations Advisers in their expanding Shared Service Centre in Northampton.
Working within an enthusiastic team, it will be your responsibility to provide first line telephone advice about employment matters (covering recruitment & selection, disciplinaries, grievances, sickness absence, terms & conditions etc). You will be advising management who between them have responsibility for around 16,000 employees across more than 1000 sites.
Using your knowledge of employment law and policy, you will be expected to provide practical, down to earth advice and professionally deal with any people issues. In addition you will provide support and assistance to other team colleagues on ad hoc projects and statistical analysis.
The successful candidate will be educated to degree level or equivalent and will have similar experience of providing employee relations advice in a similar multi-site environment. Ideally our client is looking for candidates who are CIPD qualified (or equivalent) however those that are studying towards the qualification are also welcome to apply.
You will be confident, outgoing and commercially aware with a clear ability to relate well with others. It is also essential that you are self motivated and enjoy working on your own initiative in order to resolve a range of issues.
