Electrical & Mechanical Engineering Scheme with Network Rail - £21,500pa
NOTICE: This job has now expired and will not be accepting any more
There are 33,000 of us at Network Rail, working hard to improve every aspect of Britain’s railways. Through projects as diverse as the regeneration of London’s King’s Cross station and providing nationwide access to the 2012 Olympic Games, we’re making a tangible difference to the everyday lives of millions. Right now, we’re looking for talented graduates with the self-confidence, enthusiasm and commitment to excellence to help drive our business and realise their ambitions with our dynamic, forward-looking organisation.
Electrical & Mechanical Engineering Scheme
The focus for future electrical and mechanical engineers will be on the maintenance, renewal and upgrade of the railway, while a few of our graduates will have the opportunity to specialise in rail vehicle engineering. You can also look forward to hands-on training, accredited by the IET and IMechE in a ‘pure engineering’ environment. So you’ll be exposed to technology such as the latest lineside telephony, radio and rail vehicle systems, major track renewal programmes, the electrification system that powers the network and the signalling that underpins our sophisticated, safety-critical traffic management system.
Electrical or Mechanical Engineers alike start with an induction, followed by nine weeks of intensive placements to introduce you to our different engineering functions. From there, you’ll choose your area of specialisation as you work towards Incorporated or Chartered status.
We look for some very particular qualities in our people, drive, ambition and potential not being least amongst them. If you can bring us all of these, as well as a minimum 2.2 degree in a relevant subject, we’ll promise you a substantial investment in your long-term development and every opportunity to progress within a business that’s growing and evolving all the time.
