Job Purpose

To work within the resource pool pro-actively sourcing candidates for Reuters, IBM and London Key Accounts. The role’s main focus is to find suitable candidates against clients’ job specifications. This will necessitate working out of core hours.

Responsibilities

The role requires the individual to be involved in all stages of the recruitment and selection of IT contractors. These include:

Stage 1- Recruitment

  • Receiving and qualifying job descriptions from the clients
  • Searching for suitable candidates using a variety of sources including hotlists, current Elan Computing finishers, in-house database, external search engines, referrals and advertising
  • Attracting candidates to work through Elan computing by promoting Elan’s services and clients
  • Managing applications and short listing suitable candidates within tight deadlines

Stage 2 - Selection

  • Interview candidates for selection purposes to ensure technical as well as cultural fit ( telephone or face to face where possible)
  • Fully qualify candidates on the role, location, rate, client requirements (such as credit checks or reference policies)
  • Prepare CVs for submission including filling in coversheets
  • Arrange and book interviews, brief and prepare candidates for interview

Stage 3-Offer

  • Making offers to candidates and negotiate where necessary to ensure take up
  • Taking references and any other post-sales activities required such as obtaining candidate’s identification and documents, limited company details etc

Recruiters are targeted to attain a minimum of 4 placements per month. This should be achieved within your first 4 months in the role, as follows:

After the first 4 months, a Recruiter will be expected to achieve 4 placements in every month.

Record Keeping and Administration

  • Maintaining client and applicant records to the standards laid down by the Employment Agencies Act and the Quality Management System
  • Adhere to Equal Opportunities Act, Discrimination Act, Data Protection Act
  • Accurate recording of details of new Clients on to the database
  • Ensuring that any client/vacancy requirements are recorded in as much detail as possible
  • Ensuring that details of the recruitment process i.e. CVs sent, interviews arranged, vacancy requirements and placements are recorded in a timely and accurate fashion

Business Development

  • Networking with applicants to generate more candidates and referrals
  • Carry out searches on the system to a good level
  • Generate 3+ leads per day from applicants over the phone or face to face
  • Produce hot lists with suitable candidates available and ready

General

  • As required, socialise with applicants and clients in the evenings
  • Research and present technical understanding on a regular basis
  • Specialise within several technologies to pro-actively build hot lists and a understanding of the candidates within that market.
  • Attend regular training workshops to improve knowledge and skills
  • Behave in a positive manner towards colleagues, clients and candidates
  • Undertake all duties in accordance with procedures in the Quality Assurance Manual
  • Ensure that own areas of work are serviced and covered thoroughly and efficiently
  • Any other duties commensurate with the post as directed by the appropriate Account Manager/Team Leader or Manager
  • Ability to provide information for contractors on Elan’s range of products and services

Person Specification

Qualification: Degree level qualification or Degree calibre

Experience: Must demonstrate potential to progress into or other sales-related roles within Elan. Commercial experience is not required.

  • Good computer skills and ability to acquire knowledge of the in-house candidate database swiftly in order to be able to undertake multi-level searches
  • Good reasoning skills and ability to screen and eventually interview applicants and make sound judgements on suitability
