Our client is one of the world’s largest metal producers with an annual turnover of over £9 billion and major operating facilities in the U.K., the Netherlands, Germany, France, Norway, and Belgium.
The Systems and Information Management team operate as an integrated part of the wider company Procurement function, providing direct support and guidance through the identification, development and management of key systems to support the procurement process. Our client spends over £7bn per annum across the company and their procurement systems need to be of the highest professional standard in support of the Procurement function and the Business.
A vacancy has arisen for an eBusiness Analyst to support and develop their procurement systems and processes. The post holder will be responsible for the day-to-day support and running of the mainframe based procurement system, providing support, advice and guidance to users across the procurement function within the UK.
In support of their procurement activties the team operate several support systems, provide mangement information and manage the general IT support for the function. This role will also entail project management activities in the development of processes and systems and will include liaising with stakeholders and third party vendors. In essence your skills and experience will assist in the smooth running of the procurement function.
The successful candidate should be educated to degree level or equivalent with excellent interpersonal and communication skills. The capability to impact and influence others is key in this role, as is the ability to build effective relationships at all levels. You must be used to dealing with data (manipulation, analysis, presentation etc) and will understand the issues associated with deploying new systems, tools and techniques.
Our client’s are looking for a strong team player with a high level of IT literacy and systems knowledge. Candidates should be able to demonstrate experience in the use of business applications such as Business Objects for management information provision, Lotus Notes database to manage supporting processes, Web / Intranet for communication. Experience with ERP applications such as SAP and Oracle is desirable but not essential.
