Beta Group Ltd and the Salford Business School at the University of Salford are seeking an ambitious individual to manage and deliver an exciting Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) project. Based at Beta Group offices, Bacup, Lancashire you will look at the identification, mapping and re-engineering of back office management and field engineering management processes facilitated by the appropriated technologies. There is a substantial development package of over £25,000 associated with this project which includes: the opportunity to complete a Diploma in Management and a higher degree; and project specific training as necessary.
Established in 1987, Beta Group has evolved into a specialist heating, ventilating and air conditioning (HVAC) supply and maintenance company, who uniquely, manage and supply their own air filters. The company has expanded through acquisitions and growth and now recognise the need to re-engineer both back office and field engineering management processes in order to maximise efficiency gains and ensure substantial performance improvements. The KTP will therefore enable to company to efficiently manage its business as well as exploit future opportunities for growth.
As KTP Associate, you will gain a deeper understanding of e-business project management, with the need to bring the project to completion in a commercially viable manner. You will be required to work closely with others under commercial pressure to become a key player within Beta Group. You will take responsibility for the successful delivery of the project which will develop your project management, time management, communication and e-business skills.
You will also possess a desire to develop your awareness of strategic and operational decision making processes. Alongside these skills and attributes we require that you have or are nearing completion of a 2:1 honours degree (or higher) in:
Quantitative Business Management or
Business Information Systems,
including experience of software development and the social nuances of their development and implementation. We would expect applicants to have had experience/knowledge of SAP and knowledge of Crystal Report technologies would be desirable. You must also be able to work in a team and independently.
