Design Specification Engineer

Prescot, Merseyside

Our client is a leading global producer of domestic appliances, which consists of four well established brands. The company is committed to being at the forefront of innovation and style, providing exceptional customer service, quality and reliability.

A vacancy has arisen for the role of Design Specification Engineer. Reporting to the Design Specification Manager, you will produce design and engineering specifications for products and components.

In this role you will:

Produce written and pictorial specifications for products and components.

Work closely with the Technical and Manufacturing teams to ensure specifications achieve customer needs.

Maintain relationships with all key contacts, internal and external to the business, to ensure the smooth transition of products to market.

Provide ongoing support to Technical, Manufacturing and Customer Care concerning design and engineering changes / improvements.

Work with NPI project teams, attending progress meetings and ensuring that the timescales required are met.

You must have a degree / HNC or equivalent in an engineering related subject and be trained in Computer Aided Design, ideally ProEngineer. You will have knowledge of design for manufacture and assembly methods, product and process technologies.

Our client is looking to appoint a self-motivated and organised individual with strong interpersonal skills, good commercial awareness and attention to detail.
