Pontypridd, South Wales
£28,000 per annum
(With opportunity to increase to £29,800 over 12 month subject to satisfactory completion of probationary and performance targets)
18 month fixed term contract – 37 hours per week, Monday - Friday
Our client is a charitable organisation and a subsidiary of a well-known housing association in Wales. They are currently recruiting for a Corporate Social responsibility (CSR) Fund Raiser to develop links within the business community and to raise funds, donations in kind and sponsorship to deliver community capacity building projects delivered by the entire organisation.
The role will involve working to identify a diverse range of projects within the organisation that will benefit from ‘corporate giving’ and work up proposals to put before potential CSR investors. This will involve you working with business groups such as Business in the Community, Institute of Directors, Local chambers of Commerce, Business Clubs, Third Sector organisations, Charities and other relevant organisations, to develop CSR networks to support qualifying projects and initiatives.
The purpose of the role will be to raise individual, commercial, government and other organisational awareness of the work of the Group and ways CSR support can benefit communities through developing sponsorship opportunities, including promotion, communication, and marketing aimed at publicising/promoting the projects, the communities where the project is based and the participating partners.
You will also be required to assist in the development of a CSR strategy and performance targets and to work with the media and the press, in conjunction with the Group’s communications team, to promote the charitable work and to manage the charity website.
The successful candidate will be educated to degree level or equivalent and will have a good knowledge of the third sector and the barriers facing disadvantaged communities. In addition you will have a good appreciation of the business sector and potential networking opportunities. Previous experience in a sales role, or a role where you have developed partnering opportunities and sold “concepts” to potential partners would also be an advantage.
It is essential you have strong communication skills, are able to work on your own initiative and have a flair for IT Skills, including perhaps some exposure to designing or managing web sites. A full driving licence is essential for this post.
Some assistance with relocation may be available.
Closing date: Sunday 4th December 2011
Interviews will be held on: Wednesday 7th December 2011, Pontypridd.
