Part of the DS Smith Group plc the Featherstone site is well established and employs c230 people with an annual turnover of £40million.

The site manufactures high quality corrugated packaging for a varied customer base, which includes blue chip, industrial, food and beverage companies. The site is now looking to recruit a Continuous Improvement Engineer

Reporting to the Operations Director, we are seeking a high calibre individual to be responsible for the planning, facilitation and completion of Continuous Improvement Projects to enhance operational effectiveness and support the strategic cost reduction objectives of the company.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a proven track record in problem identification and data analysis resulting in the delivery of results through project implementation, in areas including downtime reduction, waste reduction and set up times.  You will have the ability to lead, coach, train and mentor teams in the use of Six Sigma / Modern Manufacturing tools and processes whilst working with Department Managers and business teams to create a culture which supports process management and continuous improvement

To succeed in this role candidates will have Continuous Improvement experience, ideally gained within a manufacturing environment, and have demonstrable experience of their ability to influence and motivate others to achieve continuous improvement results.  You will have proven ability to manage and monitor multiple projects and strong analytical skills.  Additionally you must be an effective team player with a positive and flexible approach and the ability to use your own initiative.

 

The successful candidate should be able to demonstrate the following key skills:

  • Experience of leading projects using Six Sigma / Modern Manufacturing Tools and Process
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills
  • The ability to set targets and manage performance to achieve these results
  • Problem solving ability
  • Sound analytical skills
  • Numerate
  • Strong administration skills
