A three year graduate programme, complete with development opportunities, including enrolment on the Discovery OPEN Programme as well as ISMM training and support for additional qualifications where necessary. In three year’s time you will be expected to be in your first managerial role. There will be opportunities for incremental pay reviews throughout the programme, based on meritocracy.

WHAT’S THE JOB?
This is a client-facing role and you will be responsible for identifying and creating new relationships with businesses across the UK. You will become an expert in professional selling, networking, tendering for business and negotiation. By gaining a thorough understanding of the challenges and complexities our clients face, you will demonstrate how our knowledge and expertise delivers highly effective solutions.
Our Commercial Sales Managers Programme will take you through a breadth of valuable training alongside your day-to-day role in the business.
First and foremost you will receive extensive structured sales training via our Sales Winners Programme, whilst being fully supported to ensure we optimise your skills and enable you to build a successful career in a wonderfully rewarding profession.

A note about professional selling in the 21st century

Professional selling in today’s modern world is far removed from what it once was in the past. Selling in the 21st century centres around building rapport with companies, understanding their needs and challenges and using effective questioning to provide the most appropriate solution. Sales people and customers are no longer in opposition. Sales people are trusted partners and customers have confidence in them delivering the solution that is absolutely right for them. Selling is about educating your audience, enlightening them to ways of solving the challenges which they face on a daily basis.

The role

Being primarily responsible for new business sales in line with sales strategy, you will be required to:

  • Identify new business opportunities through a proactive approach to lead generation and direct sales contact
  • Effectively network around an organisation to establish other opportunities for the Discovery ADR Group
  • Identify opportunities and promote the full range of services within Discovery Graduates portfolio
  • Work alongside marketing to create opportunities through a targeted approach
  • Deliver required targets for new business
  • Become an expert in graduate recruitment and development and establish a status as a ‘trusted advisor’ for our clients
