of their lives. Volunteers also needed to teach, be a care worker in an
orphanage, study with a local artist or work in wildlife rehabilitation.

Share your passion for sport and life with young people in South Africa

You will live and work in Port Elizabeth, a friendly city on a beautiful stretch of coast. It is a popular visitor attraction and host to some of the 2010 world cup matches.

Oyster have joined forces with a highly regarded sports foundation that aims to promote Youth Development through sport. As well as keeping young people fit and busy, these programmes help them to develop important life skills such as self-discipline and confidence. There's a great range of sports on offer, including football, cricket, hockey and swimming.

Your role will be to help coach the kids and act as a great role model. You don't need to be a top player (though any champions are welcome!). It's your personality and drive that will make you good.

Care work and teaching volunteers are warmly welcomed too and live based in the same place as the sports coaches. You will gain valuable work experience and use your flare and skills whilst enjoying the rewards of bringing friendship and support to underprivileged children.

For animal lovers, there is the opportunity to live and work at a wildlife sanctuary 50kms out of Port Elizabeth near Jefferies Bay famous for its surf. You will be part of a team of volunteers helping to run the sanctuary that has a range of animals from Cheetahs to Meercats and a huge number of tropical birds that have been given to the sanctuary.

You will play hard too. Your accommodation comes with swimming pool, table tennis, TV channels and nearby shop. The Port Elizabeth night life is excellent and there are masses of clubs and bars as well as many cheap restaurants. You are free at weekends and there are several trips included to Kragga Kama Reserve and a meal under the stars to name but two.
