Centrica - Engineering Programme

Our two-year programme will give you exposure to a cross-section of
Centrica Energy assets and operations and begin your journey to gaining
chartered engineering status.
During the programme you'll have
4 six-month placements. These will cover the core areas of Centrica's
energy production business including time in a power station, working
with Hydrocarbon Resources Ltd. and in the commercially focused head
offices at Windsor or Uxbridge.
You will be supported and mentored throughout your studies towards attaining chartered engineering status.
placements will be spread across the UK to allow for the exposure to
both power stations and the head office, there may also be
opportunities for a placement at an international site.
The four 6-month placements:
Placements 1 and 2 (6 months each)
will be placed in a series of roles within asset operations, asset
integrity, engineering and projects, designed to give you not only the
in-depth engineering experience and the skills development that you
require to attain Chartered Engineer status, but to ensure that you
become immersed in a business with engineering at its very heart. You
will undertake key engineering activities that are essential to the
safe and effective operations of our gas and power generation portfolio
and their further development, honing your commercial understanding and
people skills to provide a platform for your growth.
Placement 3 (6 months)
opportunity to work in a commercial role in a head office location.
You'll gain greater insights into the strategy, organisation and
culture of Centrica Energy and our diverse businesses. Commercial roles
may include anything from working with the renewables and energy
project teams, to working with geologists in the joint ventures and
The order in which you will undertake placement 1 to placement 3 is interchangeable.
Placement 4 (6 months)
There is a high level of flexibility for your final role, which will largely be dependent upon your interests / specialism.
