WHAT’S THE JOB?

We recognise that marketing plays a very big part in the success of a business, especially in an industry of high participation.

The overarching aim of this Candidate Marketing Assistant role is to increase the awareness of Discovery Graduates within the student and graduate arena, resulting in a steady inflow of good graduate talent. Through implementation of the candidate marketing strategy, this role will encourage consistent engagement with our target audience and increase our presence in the graduate community.

The role requires a person who is commercially minded, forward thinking and highly driven to take on projects that support the growth and development of the company.

Duties and Key Responsibilities

  • Implement the candidate marketing strategy to maximise the incoming stream of candidates to Discovery and to increase engagement with them.
  • Implement all candidate marketing schedules to include (as required) print; online; social media; email marketing; direct mail; PR; advertising; signage and photography
  • Produce written briefs / copy / blogs for purposes including print; online; social networking; email marketing; direct mail; PR; advertising; signage and photography
  • Support the Marketing Team to develop and implement a social media content plan
  • Be responsible for posting regular and relevant candidate facing content to Discovery Graduates online marketing channels, including the website and social networking sites
  • Work with the in-house database and CRM systems to ensure that, from a candidate marketing perspective, it is optimised (the data is clean, segmented and up to date) and use the systems for mailing list extractions and candidate analysis
  • Establish strong working relationships with target universities and explore involvement in activities such as careers fairs, student competitions, employability sessions, university societies
  • Monitor, measure and evaluate all candidate marketing activity
  • Gather and collate candidate feedback and share using relevant channels to develop the profile of Discovery Graduates
  • Act as a representative and advocate of Discovery Graduates and undertake additional duties as required

OUR IDEAL PERSON

Essential:

  • Educated to degree level with a minimum of a 2:2
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills
  • Highly literate (written and spoken English) and numerate
  • IT literate including working knowledge of databases
  • Good commercial awareness
  • Possess and use initiative
  • Ability to prioritise
  • Excellent communication, inter-personal skills and high standards of presentation
  • Be flexible, adaptable, reliable and wholly committed to doing the best job possible
  • Strong interest in the discipline of marketing
  • Interest in the recruitment sector
  • Live in Birmingham or be willing to relocate

Desirable:

  • Evidence of helping to develop an organisation’s revenue, market and / or sales
  • Evidence of helping to develop an organisation’s profile
  • Recognised business qualification or training
  • Knowledge of the role of marketing in business today
