Donald Reid began his Bakery in 1963. By 1968 he was joined by his wife Joyce, who supervised the new High Street retail shop in Thurso. Today the third generation at Reid's includes brothers Graeme and Gary.
In 2008 Reid's of Caithness won two gold Taste awards through their production of biscuits for Mey Selections.
In 2009 they won a gold Taste award for their Treacle & Toffee biscuit along with the Highlands & Islands Food & Drink new product award for this exciting new range. The introduction in 2009 of their own brand range of five biscuits and of five loaf cakes brings an added dimension to the Scottish Food Industry.
