Primarily responsible for new business sales for campaign accounts in line with sales strategy, you will be required to:-

  • Identify new business opportunites through a proactive approach to lead generation and direct sales contact.
  • Conduct meetings with high level (board level) decision makers and influencers.
  • Effectively network around an organisation to establish other opportunities for the Discovery group.
  • Attend appropriate networking events to establish relationships with key contacts.
  • Identify opportunities and promote the full range of services within Discovery Graduates portfolio.
  • Work closely with marketing to create opportunities through a targeted approach.
  • Deliver required financial targets from new business.
  • Work closely with the Campaign Manager for handover on Campaign accounts.
  • Take full responsibility and ownership for successful delivery and outcomes for our clients.
  • Become an expert in graduate recruitment and development and establish a status as a ‘trusted advisor’ for our clients.

This is a very exciting role for someone looking to broaden their experience and continue to build the hugely important sales side of the business.


The ideal person for this position will (as essential):

  • Have 4 years+ experience of professional selling with at least 2 years’ experience selling at key stakeholder (board) level.
  • Have demonstrable success in a professional sales role in a consultative sales environment.
  • Have demonstrable understanding of the sales cycle.
  • Be highly pursuant, driven and self-motivated.
  • Be motivated by the achievement of targets.
  • Be inquisitive with the ability to act on initiative.
  • Have excellent and demonstrable time management and organisational skills.
  • Be highly literate (written and spoken English) and numerate.
  • Be IT literate including working knowledge of CRM systems.
  • Have the ability to work effectively under pressure.
  • Have excellent communication, inter-personal skills and high standards of presentation.
  • Have experience of graduate recruitment and a general interest in the recruitment sector.
  • Be career focused.
  • Live in Birmingham/Shrewsbury or be willing to relocate.
  • Have a full driving licence.

Other desirable specifications:

  • Educated to degree level.
  • Ability to work with limited supervision.
