This is a 12 month placement, based in Glasgow.

The Business Development Executive is responsible for a variety of digital marketing and business development activities which will form a key part of the companies, sales and marketing strategy for our product; target360. A key objective of this role will be to help deliver qualified leads to our internal sales team. In order to achieve the requirements of this role you will need to build an in-depth knowledge of our product and of our competitors.

Role Description

The ideal candidate thinks creatively about innovative approaches to sales and marketing, where delivering to the customer needs is always at the forefront of their mind. They are also an excellent self-starter that has career aims. This is a diverse role and is so important that you have to multi-task, prioritising your workload and make sure key deadlines are met and objectives achieved.

Key Responsibilities:

·         Review business development processes making improvements where possible

·         Research, generate and nurture new leads and cold call potential new customers

·         Arrange highly qualified meetings and demos for the team, focusing on quality rather than quantity

·         Follow up all qualified leads generated through business development and marketing activities with a view to arranging an appointment

·         Support the business development and marketing team with the organisation of client events

·         Constantly seek out revenue generating opportunities to ensure that company targets are met

·         Update and input records of all contact made on our internal CRM system

·         Respond to general inbound queries from existing clients regarding product detail, review business development processes making improvements where possible

·         Monitor industry commentary to support sales (specific sites, printed titles, news etc) – the who’s who, hot topics, recent social media activity, news that may affect their business needs and approaches

·         Management of all social media, to ensure their best use

·         Monitor your own progress against daily and weekly targets and report accordingly.

Skills / Experience

Essential

·         Strong customer service skills for responding to customer queries, building relationships and pursuing sales leads

·         Excellent written skills as this role involves producing a high volume of content for groups and profile updates

·         Excellent attention to detail for records management

·         Good analytical skills to be able to review business development processes and suggest improvements

·         Good knowledge and/or experience in managing social media

·         Highly organised and proactive

·         Clear understanding of Office software (Word/Excel/PowerPoint).

Ideal

·         Networking skills, especially online, in order to engage with prospects on their level and build rapport

·         Customer facing experience an advantage as the role will require interaction directly with clients

·         Knowledge and/or experience of events organisation

·         Experience in working to and exceeding targets is an advantage

·         Knowledge of image and video editing software is an advantage.

·         Business Degree or related discipline

Additional Info

The placement is located in Glasgow and the starting salary is £18,000.00. The start of the placement should commence in January 2013.
